Our Story

The Boathouse is a long-standing Chattanooga tradition for neighborhood camaraderie and a choice destination for the best of riverfront dining, located directly on the Tennessee River in the heart of Chattanooga's stylish Riverwalk.

Just 1.5 miles from the downtown hotel district, the Boathouse features an eclectic menu with many traditional dishes, along with a wide array of items from the wood-fired grill and creative house specialties not often found elsewhere. Although we are not known exclusively as a seafood restaurant, the Boathouse does have one of the busiest oyster bars in the country. 

Choose something refreshing from our beer and wine list, or the famous Lawton's Margarita (81,641 sold in 2023) and enjoy the city's most spectacular view of the Tennessee River vista, whether from inside our dining room or while relaxing on our outdoor covered patio.
